Michele Faber is a jazz pianist with impeccable credentials, having worked among the jazz greats, but who has also forged her own musical path.
With a sure melodic lyricism and natural rhythmic sense, she feels at home in many settings. The standards are an ever present fixture in her repertoire, but she brings to them her rich, harmonic vocabulary and unique interpretation. She is also a prolific composer, arranger, and lyricist. Her last two individual albums “Here We Go Again” and “Journey Back” clearly demonstrate her compositional prowess. Lucky to have been introduced to jazz by the legendary pianist Mary Lou Williams at Duke University, she later continued her tutelage under the direction of Warne Marsh, Gerald Wiggins, and Kent Glenn. She quickly became a sought after sideman, and vocal accompanist, and was the chosen pianist for Leroy Vinnegar in his regular duo gig.
